Hoodwinked
Maureen Harris works as a secretary and has been given a job that requires her to get close to a new mechanic at the company, because somebody has been tampering with its aircraft designs.
About
Hoodwinked is a romance novel by the American writer Diana Palmer, published by Silhouette in 1989.
Maureen Harris is a secretary at a company that designs aircraft, and the designs have been sabotaged. Her task is to find out whether the new mechanic, Jake Edwards, is responsible, and the only way she can do it is to spend time with him. Maureen has always been too shy to get close to anybody, so the assignment is difficult for her in ways that have nothing to do with the investigation. Jake has kept away from women because the ones he has known have wanted something from him, and he takes Maureen to be different. He is also keeping something back from her, and the novel is concerned with how long he can go on doing it.
The designs the company is working on are worth a great deal to whoever has been copying them.
