Gone Girl
Nick and Amy Dunne have been married five years, and Amy disappears from their rented house in a small Missouri town on the morning of their anniversary.
About
Gone Girl is a psychological thriller by the American writer Gillian Flynn, published in 2012. It was her third novel, and it was adapted into a film in 2014 with a screenplay by Flynn and David Fincher directing.
Nick and Amy Dunne have been married five years, and have recently moved from New York to a small town in Missouri, where both have lost work and the marriage is under visible strain. On the morning of their fifth wedding anniversary, Amy disappears from their rented house.
Nick reports her missing, and the search quickly turns on him: he is evasive, he is angry, and his behaviour on camera does not match what people expect from a worried husband. The book is told in two voices, Nick's account of the days after the disappearance and Amy's diary of the marriage, and the two accounts do not fit neatly together.
It is a standalone novel.
