Glory, Glory
Glory Parsons dreads going home for the holidays.
About
Glory, Glory is a contemporary romance by the American writer Linda Lael Miller, published in 1991. It is set in the small town of Pearl Lake.
Glory Parsons returns home for the holidays with considerable reluctance, because going back means facing the two losses that define her: her brother, who was killed in a war, and Jesse Bainbridge, whom she left. Ten years earlier she had promised to love him forever and then walked away without explanation, and she has never told him the reason. Jesse has enough on his plate without her: he is the sheriff of Pearl Lake, and he is raising his orphaned niece. The novel follows the two of them as they are thrown together again, and as the truth Glory has been keeping becomes the thing that stands between them, since nothing further can happen until Jesse knows it and decides whether he can live with it. Its setting is a small town in winter, with the obligations of family and neighbours around it.
Miller wrote a great many romances, both historical and contemporary, and this one is among her contemporary titles.
