Fox in Socks
Fox and Knox begin with a box and a pair of socks, and the rhymes get harder from there.
About
Fox in Socks is a children's book of rhymes by Dr. Seuss, published in this Random House printing of 72 pages, ISBN 9780394900384.
The book starts with four things: a fox, a man called Knox, a box and a pair of socks. It then takes those items through one arrangement after another, adding chicks, bricks, blocks and clocks as it goes, and each page makes the reading harder than the last. Knox objects to the difficulty as the tongue-twisters accumulate, and the Fox keeps going regardless. Towards the end the Fox delivers a long sequence about beetles that fight with paddles while standing in a puddle inside a bottle, and Knox has had enough and puts the Fox into the bottle.
The book is written for children who are beginning to read. It is one of the beginner books that the author wrote and drew himself.
