Finding Her Home
Returning to Segundo, Colorado, was the last thing Tori Sandoval planned to do.
About
Finding Her Home is a 2004 inspirational romance by Carol Steward, published by Steeple Hill Books as a 251-page paperback.
Tori Sandoval's return is reluctant. She has built a career as a high-school principal in a city after growing up in Segundo, and she comes back only because her grandparents need her, which sets up the book's tension between the life she made and the place she comes from. Steve Remington has moved to the same town with his children, which she finds hard to account for. Steve is a widower who has moved to the town with his children, and it is a favour done for his elderly neighbours that introduces him to Tori.
The relationship's complication is professional. Tori turns out to be Steve's new supervisor, which makes the developing attraction a matter of workplace judgement as well as personal choice. Steeple Hill published short inspirational romances, and the copy frames the outcome as a lesson about the meaning of home, which is the theme the title announces rather than one the plot discovers late. What he could not have expected is that the woman he met would turn out to be his new supervisor.
