Feels Like Family
Helen Decatur has spent her working life reaching goals, and she has met every one of them: college, law school, her own practice, financial security and a reputation as one of the most respected divorce lawyers in South Carolina.
About
Feels Like Family is a romance novel by the American writer Sherryl Woods, published in 2007. It is the third book in her Sweet Magnolias series, set in the small town of Serenity in South Carolina.
The series follows a group of women friends, each of whom gets a novel of her own, and this one belongs to Helen Decatur, a matrimonial lawyer who has built her career on other people's divorces and who has decided she wants a child before it is too late. Helen is the most cynical of the three friends and the least willing to admit that her plans have gone wrong, and the story follows the practical difficulties of the choice she has made, her friends' reactions and the man who does not fit into the schedule she has set for herself. Woods writes small-town romances in which the supporting cast appears across the series, so the town, its restaurants and its gossip are part of the book's furniture.
Woods has written a large number of romances across several linked series, and the Sweet Magnolias books were adapted for television in 2020.
