Confess
Auburn Reed is twenty-one and has already lost everything important to her, and she has decided that there is no room in her life for mistakes.
About
Confess is a romance novel by the American writer Colleen Hoover, published in 2015.
Auburn Reed is twenty-one and has already lost everything that mattered to her. She is in the middle of the work of rebuilding a life that has been broken, she has her goals in view, and she has concluded that she cannot afford a single mistake along the way.
That resolve does not survive her first visit to a Dallas art studio, where she goes looking for a job and meets Owen Gentry, the artist who works there. She feels a strong and immediate attraction to him, and this is the one time she lets her heart decide rather than her head.
What she discovers afterwards is that Owen has been keeping something substantial from her, and that the size of his past could destroy what she has been rebuilding. The simplest way for her to get her life back on course is to cut him out of it entirely, and the only way for him to keep her is to confess, in a case where the confession may do more damage than the original wrong did.
