Bound by Grace
Charlotte Pringle would rather run her bookshop than look for a husband, but her parents are pressing her to agree to an advantageous match, and what she fears is being trapped in a marriage without affection.
About
Bound by Grace is a Christian romance by the American writer Amber Stockton, published in 2011.
Charlotte Pringle is not like the other young ladies of her acquaintance: she would rather spend her days running her bookshop than pursuing eligible gentlemen. Her parents, however, are putting pressure on her to accept an advantageous match, and what she fears is not marriage itself but being trapped in one without affection. Richard Baxton is under pressure from a different direction, because he has become responsible both for the family business and for his niece Grace, who is unable to walk. Grace loves books, and it is her enthusiasm that brings the two of them into Charlotte's shop, where Richard finds himself drawn to Charlotte's character. The novel follows the two of them as their difficulties accumulate, and it asks whether faith and grace will let them meet the hardships in front of them with dignity and strength.
The book was published by Barbour Publishing, which issued a large number of Christian romances in short, uniform volumes. It is a short novel, in keeping with the format of the line it appeared in.
