Bite Me If You Can
One minute Leigh is walking home in the early hours of the morning and the next a vampire is sinking his teeth into her neck.
About
Bite Me If You Can is a paranormal romance by Lynsay Sands, published in 2007 and part of her Argeneau sequence. Its heroine, Leigh, is attacked on her way home in the early hours of the morning.
The vampire who bites her is a rogue who has already been marked for termination, which means there is nobody left to hold responsible. The bite itself cannot be undone, and Leigh's situation is that she has been turned by somebody who never intended to survive the night.
Lucian Argeneau is the hunter who deals with rogue vampires, and he has been alive for over two thousand years. Very little excites him any more: food has become tasteless, sex is ordinary, and his existence has settled into a routine he has stopped noticing.
Leigh drops into that life, and he suddenly finds himself craving coffee, which is the book's way of saying that something has restarted in him. The novel is the story of a man who thought he was finished and a woman who has just been made into his kind without being asked.
