Allegiant
The faction-based society Tris Prior once believed in has been shattered by violence, power struggles and loss.
About
Allegiant is a dystopian novel for young adults by the American author Veronica Roth, published by HarperCollins in October 2013. It completes the Divergent trilogy that Roth began with her debut novel Divergent in 2011, and it was published simultaneously by Katherine Tegen Books and HarperCollins Children's Books in the United Kingdom.
The book is written from the perspective of both Beatrice, known as Tris, and Tobias, known as Four, which distinguishes it from the two earlier volumes. Following the revelations of the previous novel, the two of them journey past the city's boundaries to discover what lies beyond, so the plot is a departure before it is a confrontation.
Four weeks before publication, a free electronic companion book to the trilogy was released. Switching between Tris and Tobias is the structural change of the third book, and it lets the novel show a relationship from both sides while the world outside the fence is being explained. The series had already established its rules of factions, simulations and a city whose history was deliberately kept from the people living in it, and this is the volume where the reason for that arrangement is answered.
