Armored Core VI Getting Started: Build, Sortie, Rebuild

On this page

The mech is the character sheet

Armored Core VI has no character level. Most combat properties come from the assembled head, core, arms, legs, booster, generator, FCS and weapons, while OS Tuning adds separate upgrades as Arena progress unlocks them. The garage is therefore part of solving a mission alongside learning the encounter.

Read three numbers before you sortie. Total weight affects what the legs can carry and how the AC moves. EN Load must stay within the generator’s output for the assembly to sortie. Attitude Stability helps determine how much impact the AC can take before staggering.

Legs decide the playstyle

Leg type changes movement and weapon handling. Bipeds offer familiar ground movement, reverse joints emphasize jumps, tetrapods can hover, and tank legs can fire heavy weapons without the firing stance used by other legs. Each category still contains light and heavy variants, so compare the individual part as well as its type.

Mission problem Build answer
You keep getting staggered Heavier core and legs, or more stability parts
You cannot close distance Compare booster thrust and a lighter frame
You are always out of energy Compare generator capacity and recharge with booster demand
Boss has a shield or phase Swap weapon types rather than retrying

Rebuilding is the game

When a fight exposes a weakness, return to Assembly and change the parts that answer it. Check the mission briefing, save useful loadouts, and treat purchases as experiments; parts can be sold back for their purchase price.

Repair Kits and ammunition are limited within a mission, so a sortie is also a resource plan. Boost, Energy and Stagger covers the combat layer.
